Pace High School, located in Santa Rosa County, was established in 1972 with just 240 students. After 30 years there are over 1800 students. The Pace community, which is about 20 minutes from Pensacola, 15 minutes from the University of West Florida, and just over 30 minutes from Pensacola Beach, is one of the fastest growing communities in Northwest Florida. Academics and student achievement are the main focus at Pace High School. Sports, band, drama, clubs, and honor societies are some of the extracurricular activities students can use to round out their high school experience. An active NJROTC program also offers many opportunities for young men and women interested in careers in the Navy and other branches of military service. Pace High School is actively involved in school-based decision making and has utilized teacher committees to determine and implement decisions that affect the overall school program. One such program that a teacher/administrator committee initiated is the 4x4 Block Schedule that began with the 1995-1996 school year.
